Intimate Worlds

Macro photography explores a whole new world, but one that is usually messy. In most cases, I laboriously separate my subject from the background and add it to a simple canvas, usually one of color and texture, and ofter with a radial gradient. This method highlights the bloom, or whatever the subject may be. There are of course other methods such a painting with light, thus leaving the background black as in the image below of orchids.
